Farmers In Training
FITs Summer 2010
Farmers In Training is part of our new summer 2010 CIT program and deals directly with our Junior Farmers camp.
Campers interested in enrolling for this program will need to have the desire to learn the details of caring for animals and working with and guiding younger campers.
Farmers will be involved in the daily operations of our farm and have job responsibilities. We will require that any camper interested in this program write a short letter expressing their interest and any previous qualifications they may have. Potential campers for this program must also have a comfort level with handling large animals such as a donkey, horse, llama and alpaca. Training will also be given but the camper must have basic knowledge and a comfort level to do these tasks on their own.
Hours will be from 8:00-4:00 daily during camp week and campers will receive a staff t-shirt
Space is limited to 4 campers per camp week and campers must be 12 by Sept 1, 2010
cost per week session is $200 plus a $20 materials/reg. fee
Spots will be reserved by a first come basis that meet our criteria
